Step 3 loosen the screws that secure the locking bar guides at each end of the door panel with a 3 8 inch socket wrench.
The locking bar is keeping the door locked.
Pull the handle away from the face of the door and spray a generous amount of lubricant on the inner.
Step 2 remove the pin that secures the inside lock handle to the lock shaft in the center of the door panel.
Place the vice grips on the door track above any door roller and lock the vice grips on the track.
The second set of nuts can then be hand tightened to hold the lock onto the rail.
Close the garage door and attempt to lock the door from the inside.
If you didn t drill the holes in the right space you will have to loosen one of the nuts to give the bolt a bit of play.
The power goes out.
Locate where the ends of the locking bars hit the track and miss the hole.
The door is now locked.
This will turn the operating lever and extend the bolt into the locked position.
To lock the slide lock from the outside you need to install a lock handle with the spindle inserted into the square hole next to the operating lever.
So the garage tilt a door lock has been ripped out.
Loosen the machine screws on the handle base plate using the appropriate screwdriver.
Once installed turn the handle 90 degrees to lock the slide lock.
Put the bolt ends through the holes in the garage door rail.
